Ike W. Thrash

Founding Partner and Managing Director

Ike W. Thrash was born in Meridian, Mississippi on March 17, 1953. He and the former Dawn Marie Lacour have been married since July 13, 1974 and have four children: Jennifer, Kelly, Walker, and Joseph. Ike played baseball and attended Tulane University, and later graduated with honors from the University of Southern Mississippi.

From 1975 to 1986, he worked as an underwriter for J.H. Harris Mortgage Company in New Orleans, as a site selector and general contractor for Studebakers Restaurants, and as a residential builder and developer of apartments and single-family homes.

Since 1986, Ike W. Thrash has been involved in the acquisition, development, renovation, and disposition of multifamily and other income producing properties. This has included over 18,000 apartment units as well as multiple successful condominium and hotel projects with total values exceeding one billion dollars. He also has more than 25 years of construction experience as a general contractor and has developed over 3,000 rental units and over 2,000,000 square feet of retail commercial. These commercial developments include: restaurants, hotels, office parks, office buildings, and shopping centers.

Ike and his wife Dawn also operate a very successful stable of thoroughbred race horses. Ike and Dawn Thrash currently reside in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Walker Thrash

Partner - Focus on Development & Construction

As a developer, Walker has a strong background in complex financing structures including: tax credits, bonds, grants, and multi-level partnerships. He has also completed many historic projects involving repurposing and preservation. His primary areas of focus involve: development, tax credit structures and project construction

Walker received his Bachelor degree in Business Administration from Millsaps College in 2002.   Walker has worked primarily as a developer and contractor throughout the southeastern United States. He has constructed or renovated large-scale developments in Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Florida, Tennessee and Texas. These commercial developments include: hotels, retail/office, apartments, townhomes, condominiums and medical facilities.

Joseph L. Thrash

Partner - Focus on Acquisitions & Finance

Joseph Thrash joined the company in May of 2005 after graduating with honors from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi.

Since working for the company, he has been directly involved in the acquisition and development of over $400 million in commercial properties including: hotels, apartments, and condominiums. His primary areas of focus involve: project underwriting, project finance and project selection. This focus has allowed him to become extremely well versed in complex financing and tax credit structures while making him an acquisition and valuation specialist for the company.

Joseph received his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Millsaps College and is a member of both Beta Gamma Sigma and Omicron Delta Epsilon honor societies.

Tracey Ross

CAM - Director of Asset Management

Tracey began her career in the multifamily real estate business in 1988 as a leasing consultant and on-site manager where she learned the day to day operations of property management. She became a Regional Manager in 1998. She joined Dawn Properties in 2001 after working as a Regional Manager for AIMCO. As the Director of Asset Management, Tracey directs all operations in multifamily projects nationwide. She has successfully overseen the new construction, renovation, lease-up, daily operations, acquisition and disposition of over 10,000 units. She is active in the Gulf Coast Apartment Association and resides in Ocean Springs, MS with her husband and two children.

Mike Johnson

Director of Company Financials

Mike is intimately involved in the day-to-day management and budgeting of corporate financials. His duties include company-wide budgets, analyzing construction cash flows and working directly with company CPA to prepare and review financial data.

Mike was born December 12, 1949 in Charleston, WV and received his Bachelor degree majoring in Business in 1971 from the University of Charleston. From 1981 through 1990 he worked as Manager of Retail Operations and Director of Retail Development for a Division of Malone & Hyde, a four billion dollar company. As Director of Retail Development he negotiated with developers to develop anchor retail grocery tenants, as well as with banks for monies needed for new projects. Mike was in charge of three retail store engineers and was involved in design and construction of retail centers throughout the southeast. He was later owner of five grocery stores in Central KY. His responsibilities included human resource activity for 160 employees, proformas, financing, and retail operations. From 1999 through 2008 Mike served as a Sales and Management coordinator for Super Valu Southeast ( a Fortune 500 company), where he worked with retailers in 14 states to design and market their stores for more sales and profits.

Kevin Thompson

Director of Construction Management

After joining Thrash Development in early 2009, Kevin has completed several projects as Director of Construction including the completion of a Sheraton 4 Points Hotel, The Chancellor Hotel, Belle Rowe Townhomes and the Advanced Pain Therapy Clinic.

Kevin was born January 4, 1977 in Laurel, Mississippi. From 1995 through 1996 he attended The University of Arkansas at Monticello. From 1997 through 2000 he attended The University of Southern Mississippi, where he studied Management Information Systems. From 2000 through 2006, he served as co-owner of T & S Inc., a residential and commercial metal construction company. While there, he designed, budgeted and constructed over 400 steel and concrete structures which include churches, offices, retail stores and municipal facilities. He was also responsible for designing and constructing company specific projects for Covington County, Lamar County Schools, Dixie Pipeline, Georgia Pacific, Southern Hens and Boswell Medical Center. From 2006 through early 2009, Kevin worked primarily as a contractor and consultant; working closely with companies such as Sanderson Farms Inc., where he completed several facility upgrade projects per year.

Matthew Keith

Director of Construction Logistics

Matthew joined Thrash Development in 2014 after working in residential construction from 2010 to 2014. He is involved in subcontracts, purchasing, estimating, and budgeting for Thrash Development's construction projects. He has also been involved in commercial and multifamily investment opportunities with the company since 2010.

Matthew attended Mississippi State University from 1999 to 2004, where he studied Marketing. He brings 9 years of residential construction experience in the areas of project management, budgeting, ordering, and estimating.
